After visiting independent bookstores throughout the South, it was decided that Columbus, Mississippi needed a place that offered quality products, community events, and a cozy atmosphere for patrons. So the journey to Books & Boards began.
Unique books? Check. Intriguing board games? Check. But what could Books & Boards offer that Columbus didn't already have? Location. Atmosphere. And most importantly, a true sense of community. From the first speck of an idea for the store, community has always been at the heart of Books & Boards. This store is meant to be a place where individuals can curl up with a good book, where friends can gather to study or play games, and where the community can come together to celebrate the beauty that is Columbus. It also offers Columbus residents (Columbites? Columbusonians?) something to do after 6 p.m. and on Sundays. This is groundbreaking stuff!
By the grace of God (and a few incredible locals), Books & Boards was able to partner with Three Sisters Pie Company. While the idea of great books sounds good, the idea of reading said books while eating delicious pie and sipping on a cup of joe sounds like a dream come true.
